ABOUT OKRA HOUSE

Okra House is an evolving food and creative collective space in Greensboro, Alabama.

Part commercial kitchen, part food studio, part shop, part gathering space—Okra House is home to a growing network of cooks, artists, makers, and small businesses working at the intersection of food and creative practice.

It operates as a working kitchen for pop-ups, workshops, recipe development, seasonal dinners, product launches, collaborations, and ideas still in formation. Some projects arrive for a night. Others stretch out and evolve slowly over time.

Depending on the season, Okra House may take the form of a café, tea house, lunch counter, dinner space, workshop studio, or something harder to name.

At its core, Okra House exists as a place for experimentation, hospitality, and exchange—where food and culture meet and reshape each other in rural Alabama.

Okra House was founded by chef, writer, and artist Sara Cole and serves as the home base for Abadir’s, Alabama’s Egyptian comfort kitchen.
